The last two weekends it has been my pleasure and privilege to welcome interested folks from other parts of the state to Lake Wister and share with them information about the lake and the ecological history of the Poteau River Valley. Last weekend the Oklahoma Native Plant Society met at Lake Wister for their spring meeting and this weekend the Oklahoma Ornithological Society is doing the same. We talked water quality, Thomas Nuttall, prairies, and wetlands. I really enjoyed talking with them and learned from our discussions. I hope they will return to visit again soon.
